Ubuntu 11.10 Mouse Click Not Working

At the time it happened I was using Chrome, I dragged to scrollbar to scroll and when I released the mouse it was still holding scrollbar. Using the keyboard only, I was able to install all the updates and drivers for my ATI graphics card but that doesnt help one bit. Problems I'm experiencing are: left button on the mouse doesn't work, the cursor doesn't highlight anything, as well, the right side will not do a double click function.
