Tonight, I went back to Ubuntu bug page to realize someone has submitted a fix, and it seems to be working for many users. I can confirm it works and my touchpad problem is solved without applying any patch. However, it doesn't always work at reboot. weblink Hunk #18 FAILED at 481.
