I had the same problem but didn't even know about fn/f9. The Smart Gesture icon appears in device manager but when I click it, it says "hardware not found". It used to be two light taps to highlight a word, or three for an entire line. Try toggling this key if you have it before you freak out about possible touchpad woes. Sign in 445 Loading... It only works if I uninstall Smart Gesture (without smart gestures of course :)).

I guess I'll just wait and see if future drivers solve the problem. I just want to configure touch pad when I connect USB mice the touchpad would disable automatically. Now back where I started. and I've only had it like a month October 29 by ab1227a Perfectly simple solution for my ASUS x540L!
